Roofing in Norwalk and the Cities Around It
We replace, repair and inspect roofs on homes in Norwalk and the neighboring cities. Every visit starts the same way. We look at what is on your roof now, explain which materials suit your home, and give you a written estimate.

The Cities Our Crews Cover
We are based in Norwalk, and most of our work is a quick drive away. To one side that means Downey, Bellflower, Paramount and Lakewood; to the other, Cerritos, Buena Park and La Mirada.
Whittier, South Whittier and Pico Rivera are on our list as well. Every home in that circle gets the same treatment: a free inspection, pictures of what turned up, and an itemized estimate naming the shingle, tile or membrane we recommend and the reason it suits the house. If there is damage, we deal with your insurance claim directly. Payments can be spread out through Service Finance Company financing, subject to credit approval. Se habla español. We work in English and Spanish, so anyone in the household can ask about the materials or the estimate in whichever language comes easier.

What Roofs Across the Area Have in Common
Postwar houses on their second or third roof
Much of the housing in this part of Los Angeles County went up in the 1950s and 1960s. On these homes we often find two layers of composition shingle over the original spaced or plank sheathing, which changes how a new roof gets fastened. Tearing off to the deck lets us check for dry rot and add solid plywood where the old boards leave gaps.
Shingle, tile and low-slope sections
Asphalt shingles cover most ranch-style homes here, with concrete and clay tile on many later houses. Tile itself can last for decades, but the underlayment beneath it usually wears out first, so a leaking tile roof often needs new underlayment rather than new tile. Patio covers, garage additions and low-pitch rear sections call for flat roofing, where a modified bitumen or single-ply membrane holds up far better than shingles laid too flat.
Long sun, dry months and winter rain
Strong summer UV bakes the asphalt in shingles and dries out the sealant around vents and flashing. Most of the year's rain falls between late fall and early spring, so a small gap that sat quietly all summer shows up as a ceiling stain after the first storm. Santa Ana winds can lift loose shingle tabs and crack brittle ridge caps. Hail is uncommon here; wind and age do most of the damage.
Permits and the energy code
A full reroof generally needs a building permit and a final inspection. Each city runs its own building department, while South Whittier is unincorporated, so its permits are handled by the county. Title 24, the state's energy standard, calls for cool-roof rated materials on some reroofs based on slope and climate zone. We pull the permit and tell you up front whether that rule narrows your material choices.
Find Out Which Roof Fits Your Home
Let us know which city you live in and describe the problem, from a ceiling stain to a missing shingle to a roof that is simply getting old. We will pick a time to visit, check it over and explain your material options in plain terms.
